Rachel Wintenburg Cheng is Director of Fieldwork and Residency at Resilient Communities Center. She teaches Embodiment Coaching and our weekly Group Movement classes, leads monthly We/ve groups in partnership with Friends of Refugees, and directs our summer and year-long internship and residential programs. She is an E-RYT 200 registered yoga instructor certified through YogaRenew and a trauma-informed mental health coach credentialed by the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Rachel's own experience of trauma recovery shaped her understanding of how deeply trauma registers in the body as well as the mind. She holds a bachelor's degree in Community Development from Covenant College and has worked in community development since 2010, beginning as a homeless initiative outreach coordinator with AmeriCorps and later serving as a family service coordinator with Head Start in Asheville, North Carolina, and a resettlement specialist with World Relief in Atlanta, Georgia. Rachel loves both dim sum and pimento cheese.
